Athena Technology Acquisition Corp. (ATHN.U) Prices $250M IPO

Athena Technology Acquisition Corp. announced the pricing of its $250 million IPO and its units are expected to begin trading on the NYSE under the symbol “ATHN.U,” Wednesday, March 17.

The new company aims to combine with a technology, direct-to-consumer or fintech target with traction among younger consumers. Athena is led by Chairman Isabelle Freidheim, CEO Phyllis W. Newhouse and CFO Grace Vandecruze.

Total SPAC deal count for 2021 year-to-date is now 262. This offering is expected to close on Friday, March 19.


Citigroup Global Markets Inc. (“Citigroup”) is acting as sole bookrunner and representative of the underwriters and CastleOak Securities, L.P. and Siebert Williams Shank & Co., LLC are acting as co-managers of the offering. Ellenoff Grossman & Schole LLP is serving as Issuer’s Counsel with White & Case LLP serving as Underwriter’s Counsel. Marcum LLP serves as auditor. Continental Stock Transfer & Trust Company is acting as trustee.
