Queen’s Gambit Growth Capital (GMBT.U) Prices Upsized $300M IPO

Queen’s Gambit Growth Capital announced the pricing of its $300 million IPO this evening and its units are expected to begin trading on the NYSE under the symbol “GMBT.U” Wednesday, January 20.

The new company aims to combine with a sustainability-focused business that has a unique and disruptive platform with differentiated technology. Queen’s Gambit is led by CEO Victoria Grace and CFO Anastasia Nyrkovskaya.

Total SPAC deal count for 2021 year-to-date is now 57 with $15.9 billion in gross proceeds raised. This offering is expected to close on Friday, January 22.


Barclays is acting as sole book-running manager and representative for the underwriters for the offering. R. Seelaus & Co., LLC and Siebert Williams Shank & Co., LLC are acting as co-managers for the offering. Vinson & Elkins LLP is serving as Issuer’s Counsel with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP serving as Underwriter’s Counsel. WithumSmith+Brown PC serves as auditor. Continental Stock Transfer & Trust Company LLC is acting as trustee.
