Capitol Investment Corp. V (CAP.U) Prices $300M IPO

Capitol Investment Corp. V announced the pricing of its $300 million IPO this evening and its units are expected to begin trading on the NYSE under the symbol “CAP.U” tomorrow, Wednesday, December 2.

The new company aims to combine with a target that has developed a leading position within an industry that exhibits strong fundamentals. Capitol V is led by Chairman and CEO Mark D. Ein alongside President, CFO and Director L. Dyson Dryden and EVP and Secretary Alfeidur H. Saemundsson.

Total SPAC deal count for 2020 year-to-date is now 204 with $70.4 billion in gross proceeds raised. This offering is expected to close on Friday, December 4.


Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. and Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC are acting as joint book-running managers of the offering. Latham & Watkins LLP is serving as Issuer’s Counsel with Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP serving as Underwriter’s Counsel. Marcum LLP serves as auditor. Continental Stock Transfer & Trust Company LLC is acting as trustee.
